This book reads like a best selling novel of a legal novelist. It's so riveting, that I couldn't put down and read the entire book in one day. Unfortunately, the story is a real life account of a loving mother, Maralee and her fighting for her daughter, Ami who was horribly abused over her entire childhood by her father who fooled everyone. The entire family court system including the judge, the corrupt GAL and therapists that pushed forward the debunked the theory of parental alienation disorder (PAD or PAS as it is known) that is not recognized in any medical or psychological publication and is rejected by the American Psychological Association. Even though the theory is debunked, the family court system continues to use the theory to punish the loving mother and reward the abusing father (in this case). This horrible miscarriage of justice plays out time and time again throughout this country and the world. In many cases, the corrupt family court system of judges, GAL's and therapists use their "Richard Gardner Playbook" to destroy families and children's lives without any regard the welfare of the children. This is not true of all judges and cases, but is all to prevalent in this country.Unfortunately, Our son and daughter are experiencing the same situation on their lives with the judge being totally fooled by a complicit GAL and her therapist that, rather than advocate for the children, advocated for the abusing father and took their children, our grandchildren away and handed them to the abusing father moving them across the country and away from their loving family and happy lives. They used the "Richard Gardner Playbook" to the letter, just like was detailed in this book. The correlations between the two cases were eerily similar.Through Maralee's experiences detailed in this book, and the recommendations in the book, she exposes the Playbook and how to fight against it to hopefully defeat the system and protect the children. She continues her quest to expose this Playbook through this book and her speaking engagements around the world.Just buy this book and share it to continue to expose and stop this horrible miscarriage of justice from continuing.

“Prosecuted but Not Silenced” is a riveting account of a mother’s courageous efforts to protect her child from incest, while battling a dysfunctional, and hostile family court system. Her experience contains key elements of all the worst cases I have ever dealt with or written about, but even for someone who is familiar with how these cases play out, this book still has the power to shock, and to remind the reader that we have a long way to go to fix the problem. Maralee is a skilled writer -- able to convey complex, painful information in a clear manner, focusing on what is relevant and at the same time making it emotionally compelling. She has conveyed and captured not only the deficits in our system of child protection -- but more subtly -- the portrait of an abuser and his seduction of key players in the system to his advantage -- a pattern that we find repeatedly in cases involving failure to protect a child from incest.Above all, what stands out is her strength -- to have come through this experience and survived -- and to have brilliantly strategized maintaining a relationship with her daughter through all of this horror. It is a must read for protective mothers and their advocates, as well as policy-makers who want to bring about meaningful change.Leora N. Rosen, Ph.D.Author of “The Hostage Child: Sex Abuse Allegations in Custody Disputes”And“Beyond the Hostage Child: Towards Empowering Protective Parents.”

This book is a vivid personal account of how a mother was victimized, prosecuted and lost her only child for doing everything right; she never gave up trying to protect her child from the sexual predator that had full custody of her, and the incompetent Family & CPS case workers/social workers and judges that were aiding the perpetrator. Even with a mountain of evidence agaisnt the perpetrator and his buddies/court complacence; and with a mountain of evidence that was in favor of this mother concerns for her daughters well being, supported by evidence from doctors reports & hospitals reports, teacher reports, babysitters, Public Police Detectives, several psychiatrist, several taped conversations from the victim's own desperate cries and nightmares, and even after CNN aired an hour long investigation into this case, the perpetrator was never held accountable or prosecuted and kept full custody. However the mother was prosecuted for going to the press. And mother and child suffered needlessness for 18 years due to the current Family Court & CPS Court system that is plaguing every community across this country. YET, no evidence of unfitness against the mother was ever presented. Only implications that were meant to be character assignations; using terms agaisnt the mother such as Parental Alienation Syndrome. Mother and child were forced by law to be abused by the father of her child who she divorce when the child was 6 months old. Through perseverance mother Maralee was force to watch helplessly while her beautiful daughter disappeared, she lost her long thick black hair, became withdrawn, became bloated from the steroids her father was forcing her child to take, became suicidal all this by the age of 6 years old. Maralee was forced by law to only see her child for one hour a week at supervised visits. Supervised by a man who was described to be more like a prison guard. Maralee and her child were not allowed to talk about her fathers abuse or to pray or to be nurturing in any way towards her daughter. At six years old her little girl began to physically develop. This is a MUST Read for every parent in this nation. This one story represents hundreds of thousands of true stories; the circumstance may be different, but the root Cause of these atrocities is the corruption occurring in the Family & CPS courts systems.
