It contained a good introduction to the period of settlement of the Scots and English in Ireland and a complete explanation of the records available and where they are. It is an invaluable aid to doing research on my ancestors in a period of few, fragmentary or scattered records and in an organization of counties, parishes etc with which I was unfamiliar. Very thorough examination of the background and available resources for Scotch-Irish genealogy research. I found it to be a great place to start!

Borrowed this book from Mid-Continent Library in Independence, Mo. and I find it has interesting and understandable reading for a beginner, to person working 50 years in family history.

Some very helpful information for pursuing further research into my ancestors since I have several who emigrated from early Ulster during this time period.
