Almost every day, this calendar will present a new French word. It gives you the word, the pronunciation, a translation, and a phrase that uses that word. It also has the day of the week and the name of the month in both English and French. So far the words have been new to me, so I'm enjoying this as a supplement to my language learning.Weekends share a page, so you only get one word for the two days. Twice a month you get some sort of historical or cultural note instead of a word. This provides an interesting change of pace.I have a couple of criticisms, just enough to drop it from five to four stars. First, it doesn't include French holidays. Heck, even Bastille Day isn't in the calendar. It would really be nice to have the French holidays, too.Second, there are almost thirty countries in which French is an official language. It would be nice if the calendar mentioned those other countries. (The easiest way would be to include holidays from all of the French speaking countries, not just France.)Finally, the calendar has no graphics. I'd be willing to pay a little more for a calendar that includes pictures, or sketches, or some other graphic element from France and the other French speaking nations. Let's put the language in context.

I am a High school French Teacher and purchased this calendar for my desk at school. It was my hope that the vocab and phrases would be pertinent and I could share them with my students. Instead most of the words are not useful for the topics we cover. Sure, they're French...but perhaps this is not the right resource for me as an educator. Not many of these have sparked any kind of interest from my students; except for the interesting turns of phrase that are used as examples. "What a seductive man; he assuredly has all the charms to please" got a good laugh.

Bought this calendar last year and learned some good phrases. Hopefully I have just as much luck this year. Just wish the made it easier to hang up.

A lot of fun! A friend and I each have one, and we're enjoying adding to our vocabulary, as well as having the occasional laugh at how some of the phrases translate directly!

This is a good addition to my language learning regime. It's the perfect size for the desk, and in eye view so I see it throughout the day. Convenient and easy.

Product was delivered in a timely manner but, in addition to sturdy box, could have been wrapped in shrink wrap to further protect it from getting ever so slightly wet in the rain that happened since, while whole order package sat on the ground out in the open instead of at least off the ground and even under cover.
