I listened to a sample and heard Brian Buffini narrating the book, it even said he was the narrator and I was very disappointed to find that it's primarily narrated by someone else. Feels like false advertising. Buffini is a great writer, speaker so the info contained is good, but don't expect it to be narrated by him.The book itself is 5 stars, the narration is 3 and the fact that they mislead who the narrator was is 1 star.

this is such a great book, and I cant recommend it enough! I couldn't put it down, and I'll read it several times a year. full of funny stories and wisdom. as American citizens, we often complain about things that are basically "first-world problems." The Immigrant/Emigrant risks everything they know sees streets paved in gold when its compared to where they came from. He speaks that despite several disadvantages (language/culture, relationships/support, few resources, etc.), he's seen 7 traits that give them a fierce determination and perspective to pursue their goals.the gist of it is "they press, even with so much stacked against them, and they succeed. their disadvantages are YOUR ADVANTAGES! someone in your family had The Emigrant Edge mind-set, so it's already in you!"

As an immigrant who moved to the US from China in 2000, Brian's message absolutely resonated with me.I cried during some of the stories he shared about other immigrants coming from almost impossible circumstances. I laughed when he offered his native born friend to be run over by a car a few times since he wanted his motivation. Excellent book that synthesizes the disadvantages that can be transformed into an advantage in America. Excellent read and I will be recommending to all my clients!
